INDIAN ENGINEERING SERVICES (IES) 2014 ENTRANCE EXAM will be conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on 20th June, 2014 and it is 3 day long process. The application form and notifications will be released on 15th March, 2014 and the last date for applying for IES 2014 entrance Exam is 14th April, 2014. The entrance Exam of IES is conducted once in a year. Indian Engineering Service (IES) exam primarily constitutes of Engineers who work for or under Government Of India. The task of those selected for IES is to manage a large segment of Public sector economy which comprises of Railroads, Public works, Power, Telecommunications etc. The recruitment of selected candidates are made in the following
categories.
- Candidates must have Engineering degree ( BE/Btech) from a recognized university or equivalent.
- Those students appearing for final semester exam are also allowed to appear for this subjected to them submitting the degree certificates at the time of recruitment.
- Candidates who have qualified MSc degree or equivalent in areas like Wireless Communications, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering can also apply for IES exam.
- The candidate applying for IES 2014 Entrance Exam must have attained age of 21 years but should not be older than 30 years.
How to Apply for IES 2014 Entrance Exam:
- Candidates need to scan their photograph and signature.
- Now candidates should login to UPSC website www.upsconline.nic.in.
- Fill up application form with all necessary details, check the details carefully and press the submit button.
- Online application System will now generate the registration no.
- Get the printout of the online challan and pay the fee to your nearest SBI bank.
- Now visit the web portal again to finish the process.
- Now fill the challan number and registration number and press enter.
- Take the print out of the system generated reference number/form for the future use.
Application Fee for IES 2014 Exam:
- The fee for application form for the General Category and OBC category student is Rs. 200 /-
- Candidates of SC, ST, PH, female are exempted from paying the application fee.
- The payment of application fee can be made in online and offline modes and no other mode can be used by the candidates.
Selection Procedure for IES 2014 Exam:
The selection procedure for IES 2014 Entrance Exam is not very rigorous and it only involves two steps, the first step is the written examination and the second step is Personality or Personal Interview of the shortlisted candidates.IES Exam Pattern :
The IES 2014 Examination is conducted in two stages: Written Test and Interview. Total mark of written examination 1000 marks and personal interview 200 marks. The IES exam pattern detail is given below.Paper I (Objective type):
General Ability Test - General English and General Studies totally 200 marks
Papers II & III (Objective type):
Civil Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Electronics & Tele-Communication Engineering, 200 marks for each papers
Papers IV & V(Conventional Type):
Civil Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Electronics & Tele-communication Engineering, totally 200 marks for each papers
Personality Test: 200 marks 30 Minutes
